Playa del Carmen Pt.1 | Swim with Delphinus

Hello, everyone!

I'm alive and (kind of) fully recovered from my vacation. I'm here to recap the first two days of my Mexico excursion.

I flew out of Pensacola and met my mom and sisters in Cancun. So my flight was at 6am which meant I had to be awake at 2 IN THE MORNING to finish packing.

Needless to say - coffee was extremely necessary. Apparently drinking getting a cocktail at the airport at 4 in the morning is frowned upon. I don't get it.
But you best believe I got myself a Bloody Mary on the flight there #sorrynotsorry
I landed in Cancun mid-afternoon and waited for my family to arrive at the airport. Once we went through customs, the weather was hot! Like hotter than Florida weather right now, hot.

We had a shuttle take us to our resort - we were staying at The Royal Haciendas and it was unbelievable! Such a beautiful place. Naturally once we got settled into our room slightly we went to lay out by the pool and get some rays that was left for the day.
What was really nice about our resort - the pool had a swim up bar, total win, and it was right on the beach too! Granted we didn't have a view of the beach from our balcony but we weren't in the room that often to enjoy it anyways.
On Tuesday we had an excursion planned at Xcaret where we got to swim with dolphins, snorkeling, and swimming through caves. I was particularly excited about swimming with dolphins :)
Picture perfect scenery, isn't it??
There was even some extremely large sea turtles!! We weren't allowed to swim with them though.
We got to do our dolphin swim a new mama and she was just the sweetest. Her name was Rain and she kept leaving us to go make sure her baby Julio was okay. Our instructor was saying that she didn't trust the babysitters. Just like a real human mama.
When Rain was doing tricks with other people in our group, Julio kept coming up to us to play and they told us that we couldn't touch him!! Like, how can you say we can't touch the baby dolphin?? That's like saying if you see a puppy, don't touch him. That is gonna make me want to play with him more.

But he was such a cutie pulling on our bathing suit strings and life vest straps. Just wanting to play like a real baby.

I wish I had more pictures of us with the dolphins but my mom has the disc with our pictures from the session and our video too. So I have to settle with sharing our Instagram pictures with all of you.
I won't lie, I freaked out for a second when she was swimming through us and petting her. But I got used to her and she even gave us kisses :)
If any of you haven't swam with dolphins yet, I highly recommend doing it! It was life changing and I want to find a place down here in Florida to do it at because it was so much fun.

Or if any of you are planning a trip out to Riviera Maya or in the Cancun/Playa del Carmen area, go to Xcaret for one of your excursions and do the Swim with Delphinus. The price package to buy all of the photos is a little pricey but it's totally worth it in my opinion. Or you can buy individual pictures as an option instead of buying the whole CD like we did.

Well, that's the first two days of my Mexico trip! I'll be sharing more next week!

#HashtagHumpDay | Vol.25

I'm back and alive from my Mexican excursion with a much darker complexion.

Thanks for joining me and my best gal pal and American lovin' co-host Laura. While you're here, hop on over and show her some love!

And while she's off touring our great capital, we've got Kasey taking her place! You might remember her, she guest co-hosted for me last week. We really like her :)
#Hashtaghumpday @ Genuinely Lauren

Lets call these rules the 'skinny' because rules sounds way too formal and this is anything but:
  - Talk about whatever you like! Just as long as you ad a #hashtag at the end of it because it's #fun
  - Link your post up here or with my gal pal Laura so we can read all about your life and thoughts #takenoprisoners
  - Comment on at least one other post and make friends because that's the point of linkup right? #letsbefriends
  - Share it on social media and add #hashtaghumpday #allofthesocialmedia
  - Have fun! #hashtageverything

Why is it always when ever we get back from vacation that we're exhausted? I feel like I need a vacation from my vacation #staycation #thebeachwearsyouout

I may or may not have a problem. I love coffee mugs. I bought three on my trip. #notevenmadaboutit #mocoffeenoproblems #starbucksmugsfordayz

Speaking of Starbucks, there was a Starbucks in Mexico - and we went more times last week than I've gone in maybe a month. But not counting when they had their happy hour because that doesn't count #obviwefoundStarbucks #givemeallthecoffee

I did way too much math on my trip. Trying to go from Pesos to USD from USD back to Pesos. It's exhausting. But apparently it's much better to pay in Pesos because everyone has a different exchange rate and then it actually ends up being less than what they told you. #yourlessonfortheday #okaynowicangobacktobed

And I came home to a full DVR so you all know what I'm doing today #notmoving #jkihavethingstodotoday #butIdontwanttodothings

Maybe I should start doing things I have planned. But maybe not. #maybeineedmorecoffee #orsnugglewithCollins

Come back tomorrow for the first part of my Mexico trip!! It involves pictures of Dolphins :) #dolphinsaregood #dolphinsarefish #namethatmovie

"On the beach." #NOKIDDING #alwaysthesameanswer

My list is never ending of everything I need to get done before I leave on Monday for Mexico #willigetitalldone #probablywillgethalfofit

And Friends has been on repeat on my TV #notevensorry #the90sisthegreatestdecadeever

Maybe I should get a move on for my list to do today - but my couch is just so comfy #lazydayoff

Weekend Wrapup

Hello everyone!! Happy Monday!

Did you all have a great weekend?? Did you send love to your mom yesterday?? I wish I could be with mine this year but I'll be seeing her this time next week on the beaches of Mexico :)

This weekend we:

- Spent Friday at a friends house watching the Royals game and went out to my favorite country bar

- I started an earlier shift on Saturday so now I get off at 3! But I have to go in at 7 in the morning...
- Went to the dog park with my favorite little man

- The weather was perfect on Saturday which called for some margaritas and queso for dinner.

- Went to sleep really, really early on Saturday night and watched Hitch

- Had another beautiful day on Sunday!
- Walked along the harbor and had margaritas from Margaritaville and a very large Bloody Mary #sundayfunday
- Went antique/thrift store shopping and bought way too much things for our bathroom and Blake's mancave.

- I even splurged on myself and bought this gorgeous all lace motorcycle jacket. My sister said that it was very me, so that was reason enough to get it :)
- Went to Best Buy, Micheal's and Chipotle :)

- We had a plan of going to the dog park again on Sunday but as we we're driving out there, Blake got called into work.

- Realized I really need to get back into cooking this week because we've gone out to eat almost every single day this week... #lazycook

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, everyone!

I'm hoping for a relaxing weekend. It's supposed to be gorgeous weather this weekend - maybe another trip to the doggie beach for ol' Collins :)

How perfect would this be for country concerts and just all the time in the summer??

If I had a big space to have this set up in my foyer - this would be my dream

This really haunts my dreams. My baby sister graduates high school this year and was born in 1996.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
