Friday Favorites

Hello friends and happy Friday!

I'm keeping things short and sweet again today. And I like it like that too!

We had some exciting stuff go on in the Mullikin's world this past Wednesday. We had to act like adults, first off. Eff that. But we also got to pick up our puppy boy, Collins from the shelter!

Poor thing has to be in his cone for two weeks until his stitches come out from getting fixed. We're still trying to work on the whole leash thing too because he's not having any of it.

Anywhoser, my favorites for all of you, my favorite ladies.

I personally think this could be paired with wedges as well as heels and look just as fierce! That's how I would wear this outfit anyways because I know I would fall on face in those heels.

[via]
Give me this wood mirror stat! I have a full length on the back of my bedroom door so I might actually do something about that.

I just can't help myself sometimes! So many opportunities!

This is like mac and cheese for adults. Enough said.

Hope you all have a great weekend! My brother in law is coming in for the week tomorrow to visit. I already prepped my pantry and fridge for a teenager for a week and I'm already planning on having to go to the commissary again.

Blogger Sisterhood

I decided I would jump in on this train. Since I've got some new faces looking around this here ol' blog - what better way to get to know little ol' me than this groovy blog award!
I got nominated by my gal pal Laura over at Life with Lolo! We happen to host a super fun link-up on Wednesdays called #HashtagHumpDay where there are no rules except for using all of the #hashtags!

These are Laura's questions that she asked:
  1.  What is the very first thing you do in the morning and the very last thing you do before going to sleep?  I hate to say this but it's look at my phone and scroll through everything and anything. I've been doing much better at reading before bed though!
  2. What are your favorite boy name & girl name for your future children (I know you have them) or just in general...? Well, Blake and I have separate names for both children. Boys we have Jackson and Saban (Blake's pick, not mine). Girls are Ayla and Hazel.
  3. Where's the farthest place you've ever driven to (or road tripped) why did you go and who were you with? Farthest place I've driven is actually where I currently live now: Florida! 16 hours long with a car packed with my entire life
  4. What is the best gift you've ever received? I'd like to say it's a tie but really there are two best gifts I've received: my engagement ring (obvi) and a car for my sixteenth birthday!
  5. If you could see one person or group in a dream concert (alive or dead) who would it be? GARTH BROOKS! GARTH BROOKS! GARTH BROOKS!
  6. What is one food that just grosses you out? Deviled eggs. I've never had them. But I tried making them for Thanksgiving last year and the whole process grossed me out because my kitchen smelled like eggs for days.
  7. Has someone close to you lost someone in their family? How did you handle it (this is happening right now to me, help!) No, I haven't! I'm sorry you're going through this, love.
  8. What is your favorite tweet or instagram you've ever shared? Show us the link! Can I share two??
  9. A photo posted by Lauren Rager Mullikin (@ellemullikin) on

  10.  What is the one purchase you've made on your own that you are most proud of? I don't believe I've gotten to this point yet in my adult life. I'm hoping that one day though that purchase will be my very own car that I've purchased with my own hard earned money!
  11.  What is your job and where do you work (because I'm nosy like that). I'm a reservation agent at a vacation rentals company. I work for Wyndham Vacation Rentals. Really I'm a temp at the moment and until August but I'm hoping this is going to lead to something permanent!
Thanks Laura! I'll be adding questions by the end of the day well because I'm off to work now :) Happy Thursday everyone!

#HashtagHumpDay | Vol.18

It's #HashtagHumpDay folks! The greatest day of the week! Because we are half way through the week which means we are that much closer to Friday.

Thanks for joining me and my best gal pal Laura. While you're here, hop on over and show her some love! She's kindof a big deal if you know what I mean :)
#Hashtaghumpday @ Genuinely Lauren

Lets call these rules the 'skinny' because rules sounds way too formal and this is anything but:
  - Talk about whatever you like! Just as long as you ad a #hashtag at the end of it because it's #fun
  - Link your post up here or with my gal pal Laura so we can read all about your life and thoughts #takenoprisoners
  - Comment on at least one other post and make friends because that's the point of linkup right? #letsbefriends
  - Share it on social media and add #hashtaghumpday #allofthesocialmedia
  - Have fun! #hashtageverything

That awkward moment when I had this post scheduled and it posted with nothing in it... #hawkwardturtle #mybadbros

Moving day is in one week!! #imsoexcitedandijustcanthideit #timetodecorateagain

Excuse my rant for a minute: if you are looking for a place to make reservations for a vacation, please don't yell at the people who are on the phone and telling you how much it is. We don't decide the rates. Same as you shouldn't yell at your waitress because your meal didn't come out how you wanted. They didn't cook your food! Be considerate of everyone that works in the customer service industry! #rantover

Anyone know how to renew a library card when you don't live in the state that you have that library card in?? #imhavingbookwithdrawals #imbrokeandneedtoread

I spilled coffee all over my jeans this morning. This day is already off to a fantastic start. #atleastididntburnmyskin #damnthoseflimsylids

For whatever reason Blake and I we're watching Spring Break videos last night and I've never been more traumatized If you search on Twitter "#SB2K15 video" you'll know what I'm talking about #youvebeenwarned #makeitstop #myeyesarebleeding #buticantlookaway

My New Favorite Maxi | eShakti Review

I don't go shopping very often. I'm more of a type of girl that would much rather spend all of my money on craft supplies than go buy clothes for no reason. I'm also a type of girl that only buys clothes for specific events and that I can wear well after said event.

But, I was super pumped when eShakti reached out to me to do a review of one of their items! I was seeing a lot of ladies in blogland receiving they're clothes and thought they we're just precious - I couldn't wait to be a part of it! Won't lie, I felt like a blogging boss :)
I probably spent an entire day debating back and forth on which item I wanted to receive. Here in Florida the weather gets super muggy super quick and is vastly approaching upon us. So I didn't want to choose a sweater or anything really with sleeves because I didn't feel that I would be able to wear it very long.

My two picks came between a gorgeous maxi skit and a houndstooth print dress that I thought would be perfect for Alabama game day for next season. But I really wanted something that I could mix with a lot of different pieces and not sweat through the material come Summer season.
I am so extremely happy with my choice of the maxi skirt! I've worn it twice since I've received it. Both times I've paired it with my new denim jacket. The past week I paired it with my pearls I wore for my wedding, plain grey tee tied, and my cowgirl boots. A lot of my coworkers called me little house on the prairie but it looked so cute and I was comfortable all day!

The best part about this skirt - it has pockets!! I don't think I need to say anything after that.
The only thing that I was a little disappointed with is that it took well over 2 weeks when I ordered it. And that's not eShakti's fault at all. It's a normal 7-9 business day shipping. But DHL wouldn't leave my package at my door even with a signed note for it. So I didn't actually receive my skirt until a week after I was supposed to.

I received these products in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

We've Become Regulars

We1l, Blake and I have officially become regulars here in Florida.

And it's not like this has happened within the past year of us living here - it's been within the past two months.

There's this bar and grill called Mango's On The Bayou that is near our house that sits right on the water! They have so much to offer, too - which is why we keep coming back.

They have pool tables for $5 an hour, which Blake loves. They have awesome Margarita's at fantastic prices, which I love. And great food all around! Every body wins!

We went to this bar twice this weekend: Friday we went to just hang out and play pool. Saturday was my military wife friend's birthday so we went out to dinner there.
I feel like I got a little inside scoop from being a regular now: my waiter (who has been our waiter almost every time I've gone in there) told us that if we want a Margarita to ask for it in a regular glass so you'll get more Margarita and less ice! And it costs the same! #mindblown
Later that night we checked out a new bar that is only open from March to October called The Swamp. It's right on the water and has a really great atmosphere. And look at these drinks! So pretty!
Instead of my normal errand running Sunday, the downpour rain has kept us inside. Can't say I'm really mad about it though :) lol
I also tested out a cookie recipe from Running With Spoons - Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Cookies. They're so fluffy and addicting! Blake thinks they taste like pancakes which I guess really isn't all that bad lol :)
Countdown is now a week and a half from move-in day! Can't wait for a new place to decorate! :)

I got a little too much into the holiday spirit yesterday. But is that even a bad thing?? I'm a small percentage Irish and Blake is exxtreeeemmeelyy Irish. Like I call him a leprechaun from time to time. I was almost tempted while at work whenever I answered the phone to answer with an Irish accent. #toomuch? #aintnoonegettingpinchedtoday

I was seriously surprised that this is the only green shirt I own. Well actually that's a lie. I have two of my Unofficial (side note: first blog post ever was about this holiday - read up!) shirts from college but probably a tad inappropriate to wear to work. Nonetheless! I got this for Christmas from my sister and it's only the third time I've worn it. #ohyoufancy #greenandgoldallover

We even got to have GREEN BEER! #alittletooexcited #holidaybeverages

Last night the bars were insane! I've never seen so many people! It was like I was back in college when the bars were packed and you can't even move. We went to our normal country bar and it was filled! #pleaseleavemybar #youdontevengohere

This is the first Wednesday in a month where I haven't had anything adult-related to do and I can't say I hate it! I actually don't anything I need to do today! Oh, the possibilities #illjuststayinbed #mytwomainmen #secondcupofcoffeeby8am

I'm going to go back to reading Joey's book now that I simply can't put down! Link-up, buy her book, and Happy Hump Day!

Weekend Wrapup

Happy Monday, all!

This past weekend was definitely one needed. Full of relaxing and having nights in. Anyone prefer these to actually going out??
Friday, Blake came back from Spring Break with his friends and it called for a movie night. Mockingjay came out at Redbox so we rented that and got wings from our favorite place (which is way better than Buffalo Wild Wings in my opinion). It also helped that it was downpouring like crazy here so obviously we didn't want to do anything - and I didn't want to cook so it worked out!

At least this time, as opposed to in the theater, I was prepared for when Peeta attacked Katnis at the end of the movie. Still freaked me out though!
Saturday was our one year anniversary! We both had to work so we only had dinner planned. Blake got off work late and got home around 8 but luckily the restaurant my coworkers suggested to me was open late enough for us to still enjoy our anniversary. I got to wear my maxi skirt I got from eShakti, which I'm planning on showing later this week if I can get my husband to take pictures of me :)
Don't you just love whole in the wall restaurants? I've driven by this restaurant we went to so many times but never thought to go in there. Their food is so good, you guys! I got stuffed shrimp with crab meat wrapped in bacon. BACON! A little too much crab meat for my liking, but nonetheless still delicious.
Sunday, Blake had to go in to work at 5:30 in the MORNING. So I got to do my normal Sunday routine of planning my meals for the week, grocery shopping, laundry, and my Sunday Starbucks run.
I also got to pick up some super pretty flowers!
Hope you all have a had a great weekend!
