Crazy Dog Family

It's official. I've become a crazy dog lady.

As if this handsome boy wasn't already a handful and the apple of my eye, he desperately needed a brother/best friend. He told me so himself.

So instead of getting him one new playmate, we decided to give him two!
Everyone, meet Gordon and Harley!

We rescued them from Phoenix Rising Rescue out in Pensacola, FL and they we're the last in their litter of 10 puppies. 10 PUPPIES! They're 4 months old Boarder Collie/Pit mix and as cute as can be.
Even Collins likes them, don't let his stone face fool you.
We picked them on Friday after being neutered that morning. They didn't really care too much for the long drive to their new home but they settled to sit on my friends lap the whole way. And we only had a few whines!

Collins is super happy to have a playmate! Even though he constantly asks "when are the new kids going back to their house??" I don't think he understands that they're here to stay. I'll give him time to adjust.
They're definitely getting used to their new digs. They know that we have family couch tme. They snuggle with each other and will let Collins get in on it too - but only a little bit.
They all sure look comfy don't they??
Gordon is turning into the little light weight of the group. He was pissed that I didn't leave any wine for him in the glass. So he just licked up the droplets left over so he could go back to sleep.
Like I said, don't let Collins fool you. He loves his new brothers. And he's definitely acting like the older brother by picking on them but then acting all sweet 5 minutes later.
This will definitely make for interesting evenings; having to walk 3 dogs at the same time, having to re-potty train the two, double the dog food, but now 3 times the love.

And yes, I am crazy. But watching the 3 of them sleep on the couch right now is the sweetest image.

#HashtagHumpday | Vol.38

Hey girl hey!

Let's skip the whole of how much I love being off in the middle of the week and get right into the link-up, shall we??

It's #HashtagHumpDay and I'm joined by my fave gal pal and blogger in crime Laura - give her some love why don't you!

#Hashtaghumpday @ Genuinely Lauren

Lets call these rules the 'skinny' because rules sounds way too formal and this is anything but:
  - Talk about whatever you like! Just as long as you ad a #hashtag at the end of it because it's #fun
  - Link your post up here or with my gal pal Laura so we can read all about your life and thoughts #takenoprisoners
  - Comment on at least one other post and make friends because that's the point of linkup right? #letsbefriends
  - Share it on social media and add #hashtaghumpday #allofthesocialmedia
  - Have fun! #hashtageverything

I keep feeling I'm not getting this whole blogging thing down pat. I have all of these great, awesome, glittery, ideas to be productive with posts about recipes, crafts, reading books, and actually putting my home together. But then I end up just sharing about my vacation/family adventures and my precious pup. #ineedaroutine #ormorehoursinaday

Speaking of more hours in a day - I don't have enough for what I want to do. I even say this to my husband often that I don't get any ME time. I have gym time, husband time, and Collins time - but never ME time #excusemewhileiwhine #illjustdrinksomewinenow

Like I probably could be starting some blog posts right now but, I like sleep and Netflix. And cuddling with my dog #moreimportantthings #likecatchingsomezzzzzz

MY DAD IS OFFICIALLY COMING FOR A VISIT AND I'M SO EXCITED!!! #daddydaughtervisit #wakemeupwhenseptemberends

You know what I don't understand? Businesses that are open during actual business hours - like cupcake bakeries or coffee shops. Basically mom and pop shops in local downtown areas. Let me drink your coffee and eat cupcakes and feel happy and like a cool local!! #WHYAMIYELLING #ilikecoffeeandcupcakesat630pm #noragrets #notevenasingleletter

Okay guys and gals, I'm gonna get my snuggle on. Peace out and link up because clearly we're fun #jk #butreallylinkup #wereactuallyreallyfun

I'm going through an identity crisis right now where I want to rename, rebrand, and basically a redesign. Is that common?? Is purchasing a design worth it?? Will it satisfy my broke soul?? #toomanyquestions #ijustwanttoblog #mynamesucks

I'm now on a 2-3 coffee a day requirement. I don't know if it's bad or good but it's definitely become necessary. #butfirstcoffee #ishouldhaveaniv

And that's all I have today - because I'm still nursing my second cup of coffee #selfexplanatory #coffeebeforetalkie

Maybe I'll just take a nap with my dog

When Family Comes to Town

I would be lying if I said that when my family came for a visit 3 weeks ago that it was definitely the most time I've spent at the beach all summer. Not that I'm complaining one bit. But I find it funny that since I live here and I'm not as nearly as tan as I should be.

My sister's observation, not mine.
My aunt and cousin arrived on Saturday night and then my sister flew in Sunday morning. We scooped her up at the airport and made a beach day out in Pensacola so that they can see as many beaches as possible while they we're down here.

Boy oh, boy was it a hot day out on that Sunday. Like so hot that we couldn't even last one hour out in the heat hot. I guess it was convenient because a storm was heading our way anyway and we got to have some slushies, virgin for the kiddos and alcoholic, to wait out the down pour.

We walked around the Harborwalk Village that night and went out to dinner at the infamous McGuire's in Destin. Seriously if you ever vacation down here, it's a must eat.
We clean up nicely sometimes :)

We spent majority of our beach days at Henderson Beach State Park and was actually my first time going to this beach since I've moved down here. And it was BEAUTIFUL!
I mean, am I right??

My cousin brought a friend and she brought her selfie stick. Needless to say, I had a little fun with it :)
On one of their last full days visiting we got to play tourist a little and rent paddle boards out on the Destin harbor. I'm so happy I brought my phone with and didn't drop it in the water because then I wouldn't have these beautiful pictures.
A visit wouldn't be complete without taking in a minor league baseball game! Luckily the weather held off and turned into a really cool, beautiful night. The Blue Wahoos of Pensacola's stadium sits right on the water.

It would not be complete without a Dunkin run to give us a pick me up!
I really loved getting to spend time with my baby sister, aunt, and cousin down on my turf. Now, I get to look forward to my dad making a visit in the next month or two!

Friday Favorites

First Friday Favorites actually completed in I don't know how long!

I miss you guys. But what I miss more, is a computer that doesn't freeze up every 30 seconds. Needless to say this piece of crap will be in the mail heading up to Illinois to my lovely mother who will make it float like a Cadillac and sting like a Beemer

Wait. Maybe it's float like a butterfly and sting like a bee?

Regardless, it's going to run freaky fast. Like Jimmy John's delivery freaky fast.

My friend at work always sends me shirts about coffee because she knows my obsession. So I'll need to be adding this shirt to the list.

 [via]
I have much regret that I don't get to read as often as I would like. Considering the fact my dog doesn't even like when I sit down to write a blog post and talk to all of you beautiful people - I can't imagine trying to read a book will go over well.

 [via]
I would do a bench on the other side as well, but I need this table and chairs in my living room stat.

[via]
In my future home, I will have a little reading nook just like this.

So, I'm in the process of picking out a planner and with all of the beautiful planners coming ou for release and pre-order in the next few weeks - I need some help.

I'm in between The Simplified Planner, the Get To Work Book (found from Instagram), or Erin Condren. They're all roughly the same price I just don't know which one I want to bite the bullet for.

Is it too early for Fall? Nay, I say.

Have a great weekend!

Panama City Beach

When you hear of Panama City Beach what do you think?

Spring Break? College? A lot of bad decisions with very little memory of what happened? Or white sandy beaches with lots of families up and down the beach?

I bet you would never think of the ladder.

You see, for my job we handle a lot of vacation rentals down in Panama City and I have to convince families that the area is a completely different demographic in the summer than during the infamous Spring Break season that graces the beaches for four weeks.

And recently, I've gotten to tell all prospective guests about how I crashed my families vacation down there 3 weeks ago and got to say that it is actually one of my favorite places to go in the summer.

Since we're new to the Harley family we had to make a stop at the Panama City location it is definitely a beautiful store! Much more inventory than the two stores where we live!

Now, I'm only a quick hours drive from Panama City so when my family from Georgia makes their yearly vacation there - you know I'm going to be crashing their vacation and pretend I don't have any responsibilities for the day.

So we boarded Collins for the day and headed on down for a day of family and much needed sunshines!

You would like think since I live in Florida that I would have way more beach days than I have - but no, my friends.
Keeping our canopy in the trunk of the car at all times definitely came in handy this time. It was hot, windy, and everyone was suffering from sunburn from days before so it was the only way they would hang out with me on the beach.

I also got to play with a selfie stick for the first time. I won't be buying one - but whenever someone I'm with has it, you better believe I will play.
After our day on the beach we always go out to dinner and play some mini golf. This year we went to dinner at Salty Sue's and I was extremely unimpressed. Normally I'm not one to complain about a meal and I try to find something I like about it - but it was terrible. The only thing I liked about it was the crab dip appetizer. The salad came from a bag at Walmart and I'm not even sure my entree was food.

Even Blake said he's never seen me so pissed about a meal. So you know it was serious.

So there's that.
Every year before dinner we actually get to take some nice pictures rather than the typical selfie.

Blake hated every second of it.
Have I convinced you that Panama City Beach is actually a really nice place to vacation when it's not Spring Break? I'll be going down in October for bike week and utilizing my job perks.

Sometimes living in Florida has it's perks.
