Friday Favorites | The Best Costumes for Halloween

You wanna know the absolute best part of Halloween?

Not the decor, all of the pumpkins, or Starbuck fall drinks.

The pet costumes.

Especially costumes for dogs. They are the absolute BEST thing about Halloween.

Sadly my three hounds are not participating in my obsession. Mostly because I didn't want to spend the money and we're not doing any Halloween events or anything. Maybe next year when my puppies have gotten a little older and can actually behave in public!

Onto the more important business!
I want to applaud whoever came up with this idea. Such a creative way to lighten up the cone of shame!
No words. Just squeals. OMG HE'S SO FLUFFY I'M GONNA DIE!

Genius! Perfect for having two dogs. OOH! Another idea: Larry, Moe and Curly.

This is so innovative and creative, I really have no words. I think I'm more impressed that the dog hasn't tried to kick off the headless henchman off his back. That's the real winner here.

Always the classic. I actually thought about making Collins into a Pumpkin Spice Latte beacause of his coloring and his nickname is Pumpkin. Fitting, yes? But it wouldn't beat the Puggin Spice Latte.

Hope you all have a great weekend and Happy Halloween!

#HashtagHumpday | Vol.47

Hey girl hey!

Let's skip the whole of how much I love being off in the middle of the week and get right into the link-up, shall we??

It's #HashtagHumpDay and I'm joined by my fave gal pal and blogger in crime Laura - give her some love why don't you!

#Hashtaghumpday @ Genuinely Lauren

Lets call these rules the 'skinny' because rules sounds way too formal and this is anything but:
  - Talk about whatever you like! Just as long as you ad a #hashtag at the end of it because it's #fun
  - Link your post up here or with my gal pal Laura so we can read all about your life and thoughts #takenoprisoners
  - Comment on at least one other post and make friends because that's the point of linkup right? #letsbefriends
  - Share it on social media and add #hashtaghumpday #allofthesocialmedia
  - Have fun! #hashtageverything

I am never ever ever ever ever EVER having carpet again. I loathe the day for when I move out of here and my landlord sees how much my twins destroyed the carpet. And I have not idea how to stop them #SOS #dogmomneedshelp #puppywoes #illjustdrinkmywineandcry

We we're a bunch of winners this weekend. We did a poker run on Sunday that was hosted by the Bike Rally the past week and we won the coolest chair of all time! Like, so cool we don't even want to put it outside because we're afraid someone will steal it #theyoungbuckswon #winnerwinnerchickendinner #iwantmineinpink

Last week I shattered my phone screen and luckily got it replaced that day for a much less price than buying a brand new phone. I got it fixed and it looked beautiful like I've never even dropped it. But of course, once one is issue is fixed, another one arises. My front facing camera is in complete blur. #imayneverselfieagain #HOWWILLILIVE

While grocery shopping on Sunday the commissary had the CUTEST mini pumpkins for .89 cents a pound. I couldn't resist. So now we have some decorations. Minimal, but effective. #fallhasreachedthemullikinhome #butonlyforalittlewhile #ifitsnotmovingmonogramit

I really REALLY want to get a tree this year for Christmas since we're not going anywhere for the holidays but I'm so terrified to get a tree and have the dogs tear it down every other day and break all of the ornaments #pleasesendsuggestions #mydogsplayrough #butilovechristmas

LINK UP and have FUN!

And come back next Monday for the monthly recap link-up!

Collins is One

Today is my sweet bundle of fur Collins' 1st birthday! He knows it too because he has been such a diva/brat today thinking that the whole day is about him.

Then again he thinks every day is about him - so really today is no different.
You see that hat he has on his head? That took a lot of bribery of his big birthday cookie and maybe a pupcake. All I can say is thank the Lord for shutter mode because this took like a minimum of 80 tries to get the gold.

I'm definitely saving this hat for the twins birthday in May. I'm getting my $1.99 worth!

I also made these fabulous pupcakes that all 3 of my dogs and the Great Dane I've been dogsitting for the past week. If you follow me on snapchat (ellerager) I snapped Collins reaction to eating the Peanut Butter frosting and I about lost it, lol.
Anyways, back to Collins.

I seriously can't believe he's a year old now. Look at how sweet and little he was when we first got him almost 8 months ago!
Now I can't even lift him up because he's over 50 pounds and I would probably break every bone in my body. Believe me, I've tried.

Happy birthday to my sweet puppy! Here's to many more years of smothering me in kisses!

Can I vent/become emotional for a second? Monday morning I was taking my litter out to go potty since I don't have a yard at 5:00am. We're minding our own business and almost finished up when some chick was jingling her keys right by the cars and then down the road there was a couple walking in the middle of the street. Needless to say they went crazy because there was too much going on so early in the morning. I was trying to pick up some of their poop while I lost my grip on Collins leash and he bolted down the street towards the couple because clearly he needed to say hi to them. There walk would not be the same with out it. You would think that they would be nice people and help a sister out with two other dogs in my other hand and pick up Collins leash. But, oh no. You would think Collins chewed her to pieces because she screamed bloody murder and was yelling at me "JESUS CHRIST GET HIM OFF OF ME!! GET HIM OFF OF ME!!" And then she sped walked down the street. Thankfully her husband grabbed the leash for me and I apologized immensely because I felt so bad and so embarrassed. And then I came back inside and cried my eyes out because I had just watched Pitbull and Parolees and a dog had to get removed from an owners care due to being labeled aggressive over a harmless situation and I thought that was going to happen to me. #imsoemotional #itwasalso5inthemorning

Thank you for sticking with me through that one. Long story short, I'm terrified that my dogs will get removed from my care over something like that is so innocent and call me a bad pet owner #notabadpetowner #youjustsuckasaperson

Speaking of dogs, I have been binge listening to a podcast called Can I Pet Your Dog? And it's all about you guessed it, dogs. The greatest thing ever. Highly recommend it #golistennow #ifyoulovedogsandyouknowit

One of my best friends from college got engaged this past weekend! And I would like to take responsibility for that relationship coming to be. Well, really I gave my best friend the confidence to express her feelings to the guy she's friendzoned for so many years. #matchmakerLauren #imaprettybigdeal

Also something big/sad that happened this week - I got an email this morning about my sorority chapter will become dormant after this school year is over. Being on a large campus with a very large Greek community, it's super hard to retain members and we had this same problem in my 4 years as an active member. We kinda knew that it was coming but it still hurts all the same #notfouryearsbutforlife #RIPSigmaKappaTheta

I've just realized that this entire post is involving a lot of my emotions #noragrets #ijusthavealotoffeelings

Now time to turn my week around because it's Wednesday and I don't work today. Happy Hump Day friends!

Weekend Wrapup | Weddings + Mullets

Hello friends!

We've had a pretty jam packed weekend. One of those ones where not enough sleep was had and you just bummed around all day Sunday not wanting to deal with life that was going to come on Monday morning.

This isn't related to at all what we did this weekend. But I just had to share. Collins was taking a nap Friday night before Blake got home from work and when he woke up these were his ears
He's a mouse, duh!

Anyways, I enjoyed that. I got a lot of entertainment out of that and had to take a picture before he shook and his ears would go back to their floppy form.

Friday was spent shopping for wedding outfits for the wedding the next day. And we we're pretty successful seeing as how we didn't even get out to the mall until 7pm that night. We both wanted to go fall style but not too fancy but better than we normally dress on a day to day basis.

I was really wanting to find a maroon maxi skirt/dress so I can wear my white lace moto jacket I got back in May. And I was successful at H&M with a maxi dress - even in October which I was super surprised. But my dress that I found at Forever 21 just surpassed it by long shot. I'll save the maxi dress for a rainy day. And by rainy day I mean next year when it gets warmer since it's cooling off here in Florida finally.

Saturday was going to be a long day.

That morning one of Blake's friends/coworker was getting married and the bride asked my girlfriend and I to be there early to help decorate the reception hall. Which I was very happy to do! Except they showed up an hour late with all of the decorations due to technical difficulties having to sign guests in onto the base since that's where the reception was going to be.

So basically everything got pushed back an hour, and spiraled into a lot of other things going wrong that day.

But in the end, it all worked out. I remember stressing on my wedding day and we we're even running late as well. I told the bride that nothing else mattered just as long as no one else noticed that things didn't go as planned. It still ended up being a beautiful wedding.
How awesome is the dress/boots combo though?? Of course gotta have the coffee for the long days of events.
Some of their cute decor the bride crafted. Gotta love the glitter!
We sure clean up nicely :)

Blake was raving all day Sunday how much he was digging his khakis and polo ensemble. He might just wear those now for game day instead of his shorts.
We got a 3 hour break in our day so home to the puppies and in hopes of a nap to rest up for our evening plans. But that didn't happen.
This however, did.

The whole weekend was Mullet Festival which is a big 3-day carnival/craft fair/country music concert. It's a lot to handle basically. We went last year and saw Dustin Lynch get a beer can thrown at his face.

Honestly, I think we were all surprised that any performer would want to come back after how some of the drunken fools treated him.

This year the line up was Joe Nichols on Friday night, Love and Theft and Gloriana on Saturday night, and Lone Star on Sunday night. I was more excited to see Gloriana and Lone Star but didn't get to make it on Sunday.
Don't get me wrong, Love and Theft put on a decent set. But they're just not my cup of tea. I love Angel Eyes and Girls Love to Shake It. But that's about it.

Blake's seen Gloriana before and said that they put on a kick ass set. But they just kinda fell a little flat to me too. They didn't play as much of their older music as I would have hoped. But hey, no one got a beer can thrown at them!

What really irked me was there were girls in front of us that set their chairs down to save their spots. And it wasn't for like 15-20 minutes, but for 3 hours... No. Just no. What topped it all off was when they came back was they we're rudder than all hell. That might've set the tone for our entire evening - but it was still a fun time.
This was our Sunday. All day snuggles. I had to force Blake and I to get off the couch and take the dogs to the park for a little exercise and play time. The dogs have gotten super cuddly and have pretty much formed a dog blanket on top of me. I can't complain though!

Friday Favorites | Snuggles + Parks

I've had one of those weeks where there have been a lot of great moments that I feel like I'm finally getting a grasp on this whole life and routine thing.

Maybe it also had to do with the fact that there was a 3 day weekend this week thanks to good ol' Christopher Columbus sailing on the ocean blue. Even though it didn't really have any effect on my work week - it just set the week off on a good note

The main event of this week, and really every day and week for that matter - full of snuggles and parks.

Harley's face just makes me melt.

We've taken two trips to the dog park this week so these pups are definitely a little more spoiled than normal. It was nice and cool on Tuesday after work so I decided to scoop up the pups and take them to the dog park. This is generally the result after running around like a couple of maniacs. Dirt on their noses and everything.

My girlfriend met up with us on Wednesday with her three dogs in tow and had a puppy play date and this was the view at the end of play time.

Wednesday I had to venture into Destin due to a certain dog name Collins chewing up our TV remote. So I went into Best Buy thinking I can find an easy and cheaper replacement than buying online for our TV - and it would have worked if it wasn't a SmartTV and now we can't access all of the apps, more specifically Netflix.

So now I have to buy the online remote for the specific TV anyways.

On the bright side of my day I got Chipotle and saw this awesome sign so it definitely went up!
This is normally how our evenings end. Me snuggled up with all three of them. It's basically how we sleep too.
Or they're all snuggled up in blankets/with each other. It's possibly the cutest thing ever!

I participated in another Mug Swap hosted by But First, Coffee and I got paired with Coleen at Lipstick and L'Attitude and Emelia at Dream Big and Buy the Shoes.

I got this beauty in the mail yesterday from Coleen and I am obsessed! The dogs however are not impressed. They don't think life is ruff for them at all. Plus they don't need coffee before their wake up play time with each other at 6am... lucky bastards.

One thing I love about my job is that we get to tour some of the vacation properties in the area and get a break from being on the phones. Win in my book! I'm not upset about looking at pretty homes, get inspiration for my future home, and with a view of the beach all day :)

Now off to the beginning of my full weekend! Where I don't have to go into work, a wedding and seeing lots of mullets with some country music in the background. I'm pumped!

Have a great weekend!
