2015 Year in Review

It's that time of year to review our entire year and good it has been to us. All I have to say, thank goodness for this little space because it has helped me remember such big events through out the year!

January
I started out my current job on temp status and got to see the beautiful beaches in the area - Soon becomame a permanent position :)

February
I got called out by Craig Campbell at his concert for not having his koozie on my beer... but the result ended up in a free koozie :) A little minor embarrassment for a free item.

March
We officially adopted my first little fury bundle of joy - Collins!

April
I had my 23rd birthday and we moved into our new townhome!
I also complete my 2nd half marathon in Nashville!

May
I went on vacation to Mexico with my family!

June
We added another addition to our family - Blake's new Harley

July
We had our first 4th of July and Collins and I had a date at the park till Blake got off work
I got to have a few visitors this month as well - some of my extended family had a vacation in Panama City Beach and my sisters and aunt came down to visit me for a week :)

August
I got hired on full time at work and we added two new furry additions to our family: Harley and Gordon

September
I had another visit this month: my dad finally made his way down to my homeland for a week and we had beautiful weather for it!

October
One of our good friends got married this month and the weather was still amazing!
My first baby turned one!

November
We had another great Thanksgiving with friends.

December

We decorated our first Christmas tree and celebrated our first Christmas actually together, but our second married.

2015 was a very good year to my family and I hope that 2016 will treat us just as well!

#HashtagHumpday | The Last of 2015!

Hey girl hey!

It is the last #HashtagHumpday of 2015! Not like it's a big deal or anything - just another day :) but thanks for stopping by and linking up with my partner in crime Laura! Y'all are a real peach :)

#Hashtaghumpday @ Genuinely Lauren

Lets call these rules the 'skinny' because rules sounds way too formal and this is anything but:
  - Talk about whatever you like! Just as long as you ad a #hashtag at the end of it because it's #fun
  - Link your post up here or with my gal pal Laura so we can read all about your life and thoughts #takenoprisoners
  - Comment on at least one other post and make friends because that's the point of linkup right? #letsbefriends
  - Share it on social media and add #hashtaghumpday #allofthesocialmedia
  - Have fun! #hashtageverything

I'm going to make this short and sweet for y'all. Mostly because I'm late to the party and I have zero motivation and creativity level right now. I really wish I had tomorrow and New Years Day off, but people need rooms to stay in right!

Relaxing Christmas Weekend

[via]

I know what you're thinking. Christmas and Relax are never two words used in the same sentence. Normally it's bouncing around from house to house, staying on schedule, or just being around family in general.

But my Christmas this year was extremely relaxing.

Mostly because Blake and I didn't go to either of our families this year due to our work schedules and we got to have it just be us and our 3 dogs.

It was great. And exactly what I needed.

We kicked our long holiday weekend off with having a Christmas Eve dinner at our friends house - and not just pizza and beer either. We got real fancy with winter sangria, mimosas, winter Jack, meatballs for appetizers and cheesy tortellini. Believe me, this was fancy for us.

I even got to open a present early from my mom - she sent the cutest ornament of the Chicago marquee.

I wanted to start a Christmas tradition with Blake and exchange gifts on Christmas Eve. Now it's only pajamas - but it's something that I never did with my family growing up. I know it's kind of generic since a lot of people do this for their family traditions. But I hope to continue it when we start to have kids that we can make it matching pajamas or even expand upon it even more!

Christmas came and it was exactly how I wanted it - relaxing. We stayed home all day. Didn't move from the couches practically at all. We exchanged gifts with each other. I got to skype both of my parents - even open presents with them and still feel like I was there with them. The day was everything that I wanted it to be.
Even the dogs were worn out from the day - of doing nothing.
Saturday we decided to actually get out of the house and do something. The fog finally cleared up and the weather was actually really cool out. I got a gift card for Chipotle from one of my sisters (she gets it) so we (meaning I) decided we should take a ride out to Destin on the bike and enjoy the day out.

We even went to our favorite beach bar that's not actually on the beach for happy hour
Sunday was another day spent inside not doing much of anything. We had the Harry Potter marathon on all weekend, I didn't have to work (YES) and I actually finished two books! Like I said, this was exactly how I wanted the weekend to go - relaxing.

#HashtagHumpday | Eve Before Christmas Eve

Hey girl hey!

It is the Eve before Christmas Eve! and It's #HashtagHumpday! Two for one, yes? I know you all are super busy with starting to spend time with your family - but thanks for stopping by and linking up with my partner in crime Laura! Y'all are a real peach :)

Last night we went out to dinner for Blake's birthday and they had $3.50 martini night. Now, I'm not one to order a martini. But I'll try anything when it's half price :) #cheapalcoholplease #probablywonthaveoneagain #unlesstheyrehalfprice

We're having a holiday dinner at our friends house tomorrow and I'm in charge of the alcohol - fitting. I'm doing a holiday sangria and I'm super stoked about it. This is the recipe I'm trying out. #allofthealcoholplease #yesmorealcohol #happyholidays

We gave the dogs an early Christmas present last night - an XL Kong toy. And they have gone crazy over it. I put some peanut butter in it once they got it and now they keep running around with it. #mypackofpsychos #theydontsharetoys #nowtheyeachneedtheyreown

I'm keeping this nice and short today. Hope you all have a great Christmas! I'll be spending the next few days watching ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas :)

Happy Birthday Blake!

My sweet husband turns 22 today!

This lucky duck is off work all this week so we'll be celebrating with dinner out later this evening. He'll be getting his gift in the mail a little later this week - a new pair of tactical boots for work.

So are we now at this age where gifts are more about practical use than what we actually want? Yes. Adulthood.

He is the absolute best. He is attentive to my dogs, stern when he needs to be especially when they don't listen to me, and always exceeds at everything and does it to perfection.

Happy Birthday, youngin! Love you so.

Our First Christmas Card!

It is my first year sending out Christmas Cards and I am super thrilled about it!

I actually kind of decided at the last minute that I even wanted to do it. I felt that now I have a family, and I didn't send them last year for our first year of marriage, it was a good year to definitely send them out!

Now, I used Walmart for the layout. My family uses them every year and I have never had a problem with them or the quality of the pictures.

I was a little disappointed with how the picture of Blake and I turned out, especially since I even used the original picture and edited it myself. It still turned out pixelated. Whereas the dogs' Instagram picture is clear as day.

But that is neither here nor there. Maybe next year I'll actually have professional pictures done at some point!

Probably not. But a girl can dream, right?

Don't their faces just make you smile instantly??

T-minus 4 days until Christmas!

#HashtagHumpday | Holidays Are Here

Hey girl hey!

Let's skip the whole of how much I love being off in the middle of the week and get right into the link-up, shall we??

It's #HashtagHumpDay and I'm joined by my fave gal pal and blogger in crime Laura - give her some love why don't you!

#Hashtaghumpday @ Genuinely Lauren

Lets call these rules the 'skinny' because rules sounds way too formal and this is anything but:

So I was sick all last week. So sick to the point that I couldn't even drink coffee. I was without coffee for a whole week and it was the longest 7 days ever. Come Monday, I was chipper and felt like a million bucks and was too excited to finally have a moment with my soulmate. Coffee never tasted so good #coffeeismysoulmate #illneverleaveyouagain

First time ordering Christmas Cards and the little beauties are out! Is it too late to be mailing them? I don't know proper mailing etiquette for holiday cards. I did just get my first one in the mail on Monday so I suppose I'm not too far behind. Majority of them are going up to Illinois so they should be there by next week. #myfirstChristmasCard #Mullikinholidaysarebeginning

Speaking of holidays, we went touring around one of the neighborhoods for their light display and it was pretty cool. The whole subdivision pulled together and everyone decorated their house and had luminaries lining every street. Some of them even decorated their cars... That's a jeep, decked out in lights #guesstheywontbedrivingthat #Santasgotanewride

I'm still super pumped that I'll have all of next weekend off. Three day weekend for this girl! #happyholidaystome #netflixanddonothingallday

I'm also super pumped that I'll be getting my hair cut this Friday for the first time IN A YEAR! I know. I can't believe it either. Mostly because I don't trust anyone but my sister with my hair - or I've been putting it off for way too long. Taking the plunge on Friday though. Wish me luck. #justatrimbutkeepthelength #jkitsalldead #illprobablyendupbald

Christmas is next week and I'm freaking out. Not because I need to do more Christmas shopping - but because I'm nervous that my family's gifts won't get there in time. Plus it's mine and Blake's first Christmas actually spent together! #Mullikinholidays #iloveChristmas #canitbeChristmasyearround

Christmas in the Home

I was so excited to get to decorate for the holidays this year. To actually have a home and more than just a small square space to decorate. To put up a big tree and stockings - have 3 mutts sit underneath it and act like they're all well behaved dogs.

Dont let them fool you.
Now all of my Christmas decorations are pretty much living in my living room - which is okay since I don't really go anywhere else and it's the first thing anyone sees when walking through the door.

But really, the very first thing you see is this beautiful masterpiece hanging on my door. I made this wreath last year and I wanted to bring it out before Thanksgiving. Blake said I had to wait until rivalry week was over to take our Alabama wreath down and but this lovely one up.
After moving in in April, this is the first time I've put up anything decor related up on my walls. And I'm pretty thrilled with it. It's not too much, but it covers just enough space.

The sled I bought last year from AC Moore. Tree and Merry and Bright canvas from Old Time Pottery. Wreath from Target. And letter M from my gallery wall at my old apartment. I just put some wrapping paper and a bow on one of my canvases to bring in a holiday touch.
I just made these ornaments last Friday and I'm so pleased with how them came out. Just a little modge podge and some glitter on the inside and viola! Pretty ornaments for my puppies.

But really, anyone know where I can get cute ornaments that say "Puppy's First Christmas 2015" on them?? I need 3. Can never have too many ornaments for my pups.

I picked up mine and Blake's stockings from Target during their holiday sale. The dogs stockings are from Petsmart. I'm already planning out new ones for them for next year. Martha Stewart had the cutest dog bone shaped stockings at Petsmart and I dropped the ball. Next year, though!

I'm pretty proud of my little corner. I really wanted to put the stockings on the banister but I was too afraid that the dogs would chew at them or try to tear them down. So, on the wall they went. But I'm super happy with them.
Do you notice that there aren't any ornaments on the bottom section of the tree? My dogs decided to use those as chew toys. Thank goodness they're plastic.
